Join Mike Corcoran, DVM, DABVP (Reptile and Amphibian Practice), CertAqV, for Relating Reptile Husbandry and Animal Health.
Discussion of husbandry is a common need in reptile medical care. This lecture aims to assist in understanding how some of these requirements affect the health of the individual animal to help practitioners relate these needs to the client more effectively. There will be some discussion of discussing husbandry in the light of conflicting information or with a species where information is limited.
- Attendees will become familiar with ways that important aspects of husbandry relate to animal health.
- Attendees will be able to discuss how examination of the natural habitat of the animal helps design a husbandry plan.
- Attendees will become familiar with the concept of using animal behavior to assess the success of the husbandry plan.
- Attendees will gain understanding of how this approach may improve the human-animal bond.
