The ARAV Hands-On-Workshop (HOW) Coordinator is to coordinate logistics of the hands-on-workshops at the ARAV annual conference. This requires the individual to be at the on-site hotel 2 days prior toworkshop and throughout the hands-on-workshops. The individual will receive a stipend, conference registration, reimbursement for the conference hotel for 3 nights and travel to and from the conference.

ARAV HOW Coordinator Responsibilities:
– Work in conjunction with the meeting planner to ensure we have the correct number of rooms for HOWs offered and that rooms are of appropriate size for each HOW. Also need a room for storage and thawing of cadavers.
– Collect supply lists from workshop instructors by deadline as outlined in their instructor contracts.
– Collect the number of attendees for each workshop as well as type of attendee (veterinarian, technician) allowed from workshop instructors.
– Maintain inventory of all ARAV workshop supplies and provide full accounting at the conclusion of the annual conference.
– Work with ARAV board members/ACUC sub-committee to approve all ACUC forms and submit them to the EC office by deadline.
– Obtain all necessary supplies/animals (live and/or cadavers) needed for workshops.
– Work with sponsors to get as much donated as possible.
– Compose information to workshop attendees regarding any supplies, etc. they need to bring to the workshop.
– Work with student volunteers for workshops regarding set up and take down.
– Work with AEMV workshop coordinators regarding sharing of any equipment.
– Ensure that all supplies/animals are delivered to the conference site.
– Try to work with a local DVM as shipping to the conference hotel is expensive; or ship to a local zoo for pick up.
– If controlled substances are needed, find a local DVM willing to help with this aspect. This would also apply to AEMV.
– Work with AEMV to secure a method to dispose of cadavers/tissues.
– Thorough clean up after workshops are over.
– All other duties that are involved with workshops as they develop.

The ARAV HOW Coordinator will receive:
-$2,000 Stipend
-Conference Registration
-Travel reimbursement to and from the event
-Hotel reimbursement for 3 total nights (2 nights before the HOW and the night of the HOWs)
